Artist Statement
My abstract paintings explore the synergies between light, space, and energy through textural layers and blended colors. My artistic journey began with a strong sense of curiosity and a commitment to experimentation across multiple mediums. I initially focused on video production, examining the relationship between sound and motion, before expanding into mixed media assemblage using found images, collage, and layered visuals. These multidimensional explorations led me to painting, where I integrated complex textures.
Using acrylics and a wide range of mediums to create unique textural qualities. My process often begins with texture, as I carefully handle knives, brushes, and other application tools to generate various relief effects that sculpt a tactile surface. When I scrape and reconstruct the surface, it transforms into something more intriguing. I then add paint and repeat this process with additional layers, alternating texture with paint. Each layer contributes to the painting’s journey, telling a story within the overall composition.
My work in the healing arts field has significantly influenced my artistic approach. As I create, I tap into my intuition and experiment, allowing each piece to develop instinctively and meditatively, drawing inspiration from nature and natural objects. I am fascinated by the mystery of the universe and how we perceive and relate to each other and our surroundings.
